WELLS, TX (KTRE) -

The City of Wells has issued a boil-water notice for all of its residential and commercial customers.

The City of Wells shut off its water Tuesday afternoon for construction purposes, according to the town's Facebook page. City officials expected the water to be turned back on by 1:30 p.m., but Wells' water customers will be under a boil-water notice until operator Carl Pennington receives the all clear from the lab.

"This process usually takes 24-48 hours," the Facebook post stated. "We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."

The phone number to reach the City of Wells is (936) 867-4615. The office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
