Another issue Nacogdoches Memorial Health are prepared to discuss is the appointment of a new board member.

Dr. Larry Walker recently retired from the board after serving more than 16 years as an elected board member.

By-laws allow the board not to fill the vacancy, but Lisa King, the president of the Nacogdoches Memorial Board, said an applicant has come forward.

The person will be interviewed, which could lead to an appointment.

That person would serve until the election in November.
