NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested a 28-year-old man on New Year's Day after he allegedly fired at least six rounds from an AR-style .223-caliber rifle into his neighbor's mobile home on County Road 822.
Several of the rounds penetrated the area of the house where two adults and a baby were sleeping, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.
Charles Drinkard, of Nacogdoches, was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. His bail amount was set at $50,000, and the jail website is showing that he has been released.
Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges said that Drinkard and his neighbor who lives in a mobile home less than 100 feet from his home got into an argument over a woman. Drinkard went back to his house, returned with an AR-style .223-caliber rifle, and fired at least six rounds into his neighbor's mobile home.

Bridges said his deputies later found the rifle Drinkard used in the shooting on the floor of his living room. The rifle was still loaded, and there were unsupervised children in the room, the press release stated. No one was injured in the incident.
Drinkard was arrested at the scene of the shooting incident and charged with aggravate assault with a deadly weapon. according to the press release,
Drinkard was heavily intoxicated at the time the arrest occurred.
