The Sauteed Snow Crab Claws are one of several permanent menu items at The Grove, due to their popularity year 'round. The ingredients are easily found at most stores year 'round and best of all, the preparation is quick and easy. You can do this!
Sauteed Snow Crab Claws
12 ounces snow crab claws (little more or little less is okay)
1 Tablespoon of minced fresh garlic
1/4 cup of butter (1/2 of one stick)
3 ounces of white wine (a little less than 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup of grated fresh parmesan cheese
pinch of salt and some fresh chopped parsley
In a large saute skillet, melt butter, add garlic, and slightly saute. Add crab claws, white wine, salt, and continue sauteing until wine butter sauce is reduced and claws are thoroughly hot. The snow crab can be purchased fresh or frozen. Either way, they will come fully cooked. Crab is usually shipped steam cooked. During the last moments of preparation, add about half of the cheese to the claw, wine, butter mixture. Use the remaining half of your grayed cheese to sprinkle over the top, after transferring to a serving dish. Top with a sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley. Serve with some bread, such as crostini. You will want to sop every last drop of juice. Serves 2-4 as an appetizer or one person, as a meal.
