ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office have arrested a Lufkin man accused of inappropriately touching a friend of his while she was sleeping at his house in October.

Justin Robert Lester, 22, is charged with third-degree attempted sexual assault.

According to an arrest affidavit, a deputy spoke with a 22-year-old woman on Nov. 1, who said she had been assaulted by her lifelong friend while they were "hanging out" at his house, along with other friends. She said she and her friends were at a Nacogdoches bar and decided to end the night at Lester's house. She said she fell asleep there and woke up to Lester touching and rubbing her in private areas. She said she immediately left the house and went home.

An investigator spoke the woman on Nov. 17, and she said she was only half-awake when she was being touched inappropriately but then Lester smacked her on her bottom, causing her to wake up fully.

She said she then rolled out of bed and realized it was Lester who was touching her, so she began screaming at him and walking away from him. She said Lester continued to tell her "wait" and "stay."

She said she received numerous messages from Lester, who apologized for what happened. The messages also said he did not remember what he did and blamed his drinking for what he did. The investigator was able to take those messages into evidence.
