Trinity County Sheriff: Man arrested after he locked girlfriend in home, took phone

TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A 50-year-old Porter man was arrested and charged with unlawful restraint in connection to allegations that he locked the doors and gates at a house to prevent his girlfriend from leaving and took her phone.

David Garza was arrested and charged with third-degree felony unlawful restraint.

Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace said that the incident occurred Monday night on FM 358. At some point during the woman's alleged ordeal, she managed to text a family member, who called the sheriff's office.

TCSO deputies arrived a short time later. Garza was arrested at the scene and taken to to the Trinity Police Department Jail.
