LUFKIN, TX (Press Release)- As it turned out, all the Angelina College Lady Roadrunners needed was a little time at home.
The Lady ‘Runners on Wednesday snapped a two-game losing streak – both losses occurring on the road – with a 67-53 win over Jacksonville College at Shands Gymnasium. The win moved AC’s ladies to a 6-1 record at home, while boosting their season record to 11-5, 4-2.
La’Neique Nealey charted yet another double-double – her 12th of the season – with a 16-point, 19-rebound night; and teammates Kennethah Harden (15 points), Charisma Shepherd (11 points) and Alexzine Andrepont (10) provided the offensive support in the win.
AC’s defensive effort also provided a boost: The Lady Roadrunners forced 20 Lady Jaguar turnovers, converting those into 16 points. AC committed just 10 turnovers the entire game.
