NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 25-year-old on a retaliation charge Sunday morning after he allegedly assaulted his common-law spouse and then threatened to shoot her if she called the police on him.
Jorge Medina, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a third-degree felony obstruction or retaliation charge. No bail amount has been set yet.
According to the Nacogdoches Police Department's daily activity report, NPD officers responded to a 911 call about a disturbance in progress at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived on the scene, they spoke to a woman who told them her common-law husband had assaulted her.
Medina also allegedly threatened to shoot her if she called the police.
Medina was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
