SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office arrested an 18-year-old Joaquin man earlier this month in connection to allegations that he sexually assaulted an underage girl in November of 2016.
Jonathan Webster was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child. He was released from the Shelby County Jail on Han. 7 after he posted a bail amount of $15,000.
According to the arrest affidavit East Texas News obtained Monday, the SCSO's chief deputy spoke with a sheriff's office investigator on Dec. 16, 2016, about a Child Protective Services intake report about an alleged sexual assault of a child. Webster was identified as the suspect in the report, the affidavit stated.
Then on Dec. 20, Chief Deputy Donnie Dickerson Jr. observed a forensic interview with the underage girl at the Children's Advocacy Center in Center on Dec. 20, 2016.
During the forensic interview, the alleged victim spoke about making the initial outcry to her mother. The underage girl told the interviewer that she went to Webster's house in mid-November.
While Webster and the alleged victim were in his bedroom watching movies together, he allegedly took his shirt off and told her "You know you want to" when she asked him what he was doing.
According to the affidavit, Webster and the girl undressed, and the two of them started having sexual intercourse.
