NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches County law enforcement officers arrested a man and a woman Friday after they were indicted on felony injury to a child charges.

The man and woman are both accused of hitting a boy with a belt and a switch.

Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested Ronald Kenshea Giles, 38, and Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Travesia Nashanedra Whitaker, 25. Both Nacogdoches residents were charged with state-jail felony injury to a child, and their bail was set at $2,500 each.

Giles is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail. Whitaker was released from the jail on Monday.

According to the text of the indictments, Giles and Whitaker struck a boy under the age of 14 with a belt and a switch. Whitaker is also accused of grabbing and pushing the boy.
