LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Heather Kartye presented new information to the Angelina County Commissioners today that show a lack in service to certain areas.
A plan which began in 2011 and updated several times shows that the county is in need of more services for law enforcement, victim, and juvenile services, As well as mental health. Overall, the ultimate issue in improving these four areas is receiving funding for the work that needs to be done.
"The bottom line is that these entities that provide those services need additional staff and additional funding to provide those services," Kartye said.
The report will be sent off to DETCOG for a regional action plan report that then will get sent to the state. Kartye said many of the shortfalls were similar with little change from the last report.
