ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A fire official is calling a house fire over the weekend in the Moffett area of Angelina County "suspicious."

Several volunteer fire departments were called out to FM 841 and Forsythe road Saturday right before midnight. The home was fully involved in vacant according to Moffett Fire Chief Edward Sweet. It took about two hours to put out the fire.

Sweet said the home had been abandoned for several years. Right now the cause of the blaze is unknown. Sweet called it suspicious because the home had no working utilities hooked to it.

There is no active investigation, but Sweet said if anyone has any information they should call the Angelina County Sheriff's Office.
