POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Texas game wardens and the Polk County Sheriff's Office are filing charges on two people accused of hunting deer illegally and possibly selling them.
According to the game warden Facebook page, Polk County game wardens learned about two people hunting illegally and possibly selling the deer. They also knew they had active warrants and were able to stop their vehicle and arrest them on the active warrants.
According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the truck contained two ice chests with three freshly killed deer. Game Wardens also collected five additional deer heads from someone who was holding them for the suspects.
Game Wardens executed a search warrant on their home. Multiple citations and civil restitution are pending.
