ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested a 30-year-old man on an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge Friday in connection to allegations that he molested an 11-year-old girl numerous times in late 2016.
Toby Allan Widmann Jr., of Pollok, is still being in the Angelina County Jail on a first-degree felony aggravated sexual assault of a child charge. No bail amount has been set yet.
According to the arrest affidavit, an ACSO detective received a phone call from a Child Protective Services investigator on Feb. 2 about an 11-year-old girl who claimed that Widmann had sexually assaulted her. An appointment was set up for the girl at Harold's House in Lufkin.
When the detective spoke to the girl's mother, she told him that her daughter had told her about the sexual assault the night before, the affidavit stated.
The girl told the forensic interviewer that she was asleep when Widmann came into the bedroom on Oct. 30, 2016, and sexually assaulted her, the affidavit stated. The victim told the interviewer that she pretended to be asleep during the assault because she was scared.
According to the affidavit, the girl told the interviewer that on three other occasions, Widmann touched her in the genital area outside her clothing, but she was able to move away from him. The assaults occurred between Oct. 30 and Dec. 31, 2016, the affidavit stated.
When a sexual assault nurse examiner checked the girl out, she found no evidence of injury to the child, but the girl told the SANE nurse the same details about the assaults, the affidavit stated.
On Feb. 3, the ACSO detective interviewed Widmann at the sheriff's office. During the interview, Widmann allegedly confessed to the sexual assault that occurred on Oct. 3, 2016 and said that the assault lasted for about a minute before he "realized" what he was doing and stopped.
Widmann, who denied the other inappropriate touching, said he was "intoxicated" the night the sexual assault occurred, the affidavit stated.
