CENTER, TX (KTRE) - Center police have arrested a McDonald's employee and are looking for another following a month-long investigation after a family found two prescription pills in their 9-year-old child's Happy Meal.
Omeisha Williams, 37, of Center, is charged with second-degree endangering a child. Police have a warrant on the same charge for Artshia Radway, 25, of Center, and are seeking the public's help in locating her.
According to an arrest affidavit, a woman told police that her ex son-in-law took the child through the drive-through at McDonald's, located at 813 Hurst St., and bought two Happy Meals, one for the 9-year-old and one for his other child. The woman said he then dropped the 9-year-old off at her home and the child found two white pills, later identified as Tramadol, inside the box.
Tramadol is a prescription pain medication.
On Feb. 2, police met with a state health inspector, at McDonald's. The inspector spoke with several managers at the restaurant and spoke with Williams on the phone. According to the affidavit, Williams said she gave two of her pills to Radway for a toothache but then Radway misplaced them.
Police then spoke to Radway in the break room, who said she got busy and misplaced the pills while she was at the drive-through window.
Center Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information on Radway's whereabouts. Anyone with information on her should call (936) 598-SAFE or submit a tip at centercrimestoppers.com.
