Golf Carts On The Road

by Stuart Burson

In Texas, it is legal to drive a slow moving vehicle like a golf cart on roadways, but not highways. There are however, a few restrictions.

Golf carts are not supposed to be driven more than two miles away from a golf course. But, cities and counties can increase or decrease that restriction.

"I believe the city of Lufkin has something in there for the Crown Colony. As long as they're heading to or from the golf course, it can be over two miles." says Corp. David Garza with the Lufkin Police Department.

Texas law encourages caution for anyone driving golf carts on roadways.
