JASPER, TX (KTRE) -

Officers with the Jasper Police Department have cleared three business burglaries that occurred back in December. One suspect is in custody, and authorities are looking for the second suspect.

According to a press release, the cleared burglaries were the result of combined efforts by Jasper PD Detective Josh Hadnot and Officer Gary Pullen. Hadot was able to gather enough evidence in the case to obtain arrest warrants for Richard Dylan Barrett, 19, and Alex Gordon, 17, both of Jasper.

Barrett and Gordon are accused of breaking into the Jasper Public Library, where an undisclosed amount of money and food were taken. The two suspects also allegedly stole a gun from the office of Ben Hancock Real Estate and broke into Veranda Clothing Boutique, the press release stated.

Barrett was arrested in Newton Tuesday. Gordon is still at large. Both suspects are facing multiple burglary of a building and theft of firearm charges.
