LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Visitors to Lufkin's Ellen Trout Zoo could soon be seeing some new babies.

Right now, the zoo's black-necked swan couple is currently nesting four eggs right now near the edge of their pond. The male and female swan's can be found taking turns incubating the eggs.

According to Zoo Veterinarian Mark Nantz the four eggs have about a month until they hatch. Nantz also said the Asian bird walk-in exhibit has been closed so the pigeons can mate without being disturbed. The birds in the exhibit can be seen from the zoo's main walkway.
