NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Go Red Month continues to advocate heart health tips. Today Nacogdoches Medical Center conducted a Heart Health Seminar and Cooking demonstration.

What's on your dinner plate tonight? If it's fried foods, you're not helping your heart. Instead, Chef Mike Cid suggests eating fresh plants and laying off sweet sodas.

Go Red Month continues with Encompass Home Health and Affinity Hospice hosting a "Go Red Gala"benefiting the American Heart Association.

"We were really excited by that because I don't think anybody in our area, right now, is actually doing things to raise money for the American Heart Association," said Laurie Hurst, an Encompass Home Health physical therapist. "And it is a very important issue for women, especially, because women have an increasing amount of heart disease."
