Eagles are State Champions!

Woodville's "Blonde Ambition" tour had a golden ending.

The Eagles baseball team claimed the 2A State Championship this afternoon at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

Woodville beat state power Holliday 2-1.

ROUND ROCK, Texas (AP) _ Casey Beck drove in both Woodville runs

and threw two perfect innings of relief to lead Woodville past

Holliday 2-to-1 in the U-I-L Class 2-A state final.

Beck was named M-V-P.

Holliday's Thomas Koetterand Zach Stewart combined to allow just

two hits but it wasn't enough to keep Woodville from its first

state baseball title.

We will have hi-lites and post game reaction on Nightcast.
