Dozens of East Texas golfers teed off Friday in Lufkin for a good cause.
Crown Colony Country Club hosted its second annual Dog Days of Summer Golf Tournament. The money raised will help the Angelina County Humane Society pay for food and supplies for its homeless animals.
Golfers played for prizes and gifts while supporting a worthy cause.
Bob Diamond, Crown Colony golf professional, said, "The Humane Society of Angelina County kind of lost its big sponsorship, so we decided last year to create a Dog Days of Summer. It's for the animals and for the shelter, to create some money for food and to keep that organization going."
