Four people life-flighted after wreck on Hwy 59 in Diboll

DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) -

Highway 59 was shut down after a two-vehicle wreck Sunday afternoon.

According to the Diboll Police Department, at 12:19 p.m. they responded to numerous calls of a major accident on Highway 59 near Demco.

According to Sgt. Brandan Lovell, one of the vehicles involved crossed from the north to the southbound lane. 

Four occupants inside a 2009 Chevy were life-flighted to nearby hospitals. A small 3-year-old child inside the vehicle was transported to a hospital in Houston.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, a Mercedes, was transported to a hospital in Lufkin with non-life threatening injuries. 

The wreck remains under investigation. The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
