TYLER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Tyler County judge set the bail amount at $250,000 Friday for a 47-year-old Bridge City woman who was arrested on a first-degree murder charge in connection to the death of a person found in the rubble of a house fire that occurred Sunday afternoon.
Angela "Angie" Coats is still being held in the Tyler County Jail on a first-degree felony murder charge.
Judge Delinda Gibbs-Walker set Coats' bail amount Friday morning.
Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford said Coats was arrested by Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies in connection to a homicide investigation that started on March 5. Bruce Lee Chance, 37, of Orange, was arrested Wednesday on a capital murder charge in connection the same investigation.
Judge Delinda Gibbs-Walker set Chance's bail amount at $250,000 Thursday. Chance is also still being held in the Tyler County Jail.
Weatherford said a TCSO deputy arrested Chance after a traffic stop. The arrest came after the Tyler County Sheriff's Office issued a capital murder arrest warrant for Chance Wednesday.
Tyler County firefighters found a person's body after putting out a fire on County Road 4180 Sunday evening.
Weatherford said they would not release information on how they determined the death was a homicide, or how they were able to name Chance as the suspect.
Officials said autopsy results are pending; however, they will start collecting DNA to use as evidence.
A neighbor who witnessed the fire called 911.
Chance has a prior criminal history and was last released from prison in 2012.
