KATY, TX- The No. 3 Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks played No. 6 McNeese Friday evening in the Southland Conference Tournament Quarterfinals and beat the Cowgirls 77-63.
The Ladyjacks came out in dominant fashion and went into halftime with a 41-20 lead.
McNeese didn’t go down without a fight and started to make a comeback in the 4th quarter. They went on a 9-0 run at one point and pulled within eight points before SFA turned it back on and pulled away with the game.
Taylor Ross finished with a game-leading 24 points. The Southland Conference Player of the Year also had five rebounds, four assists and one steal.
Stevi Parker had a dominant performance of her own, finishing the game with a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds. Kennedy Harris had 11 points and Taylor Jackson has 10 points.
The Ladyjacks have advance to the tournament semifinals. They will play No. 2 Lamar on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. SFA played Lamar once this year and beat them 74-66.
