Joint investigation by CCSO and Alto PD results in 2 drug arrests, seizure of meth, weed, cash

ALTO, TX (KTRE) -

A joint-investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the Alto Police Department resulted in a man and a woman getting arrested on a variety of drug-related charges early Friday morning.

After numerous law enforcement agencies joined forces a search warrant was served on the man and woman’s Alto home, authorities seized methamphetamine, marijuana, cash, and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Orlando Thacker, 23, of Alto, was arrested and charged with first-degree felony manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, second-degree manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, state-jail felony manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, Class A misdemeanor assault, and Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Thacker’s collective bail amount was set at $158,500.

Rebecca Brinson, 30, was arrested and charged with Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

As a result of the investigation, authorities obtained a search warrant for the home in the 100 block of Dickey Street from District Judge Chris Day. CCSO detectives, SWAT Team members, Alto Police officers, and Texas Department of Criminal Justice K-9 Division officers and dogs joined forces to execute the warrant at about 6:50 a.m. Friday.

Thacker and Brinson were found asleep inside the home after authorities made entry into the house.

The suspects’ bail amounts were set by Justice of the Peace Phillip Grimes and Justice of the Peace Tony Johnson.
