CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Three brothers have been charged in a 2016 homicide case in Cherokee County.

Jose Garcia, Emmanuel Garcia, and Maximino Garcia have all been charged with murder and are being held in the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office on $1,000,000 bond each.

They are suspected in the murder of Mario Rodriguez, 27, who was found dead in his father's truck on Oct. 9, 2016, on County Road 4415, just outside New Summerfield.

At the time of his death, the sheriff's office said Rodriguez had taken his father's truck to the store in New Summerfield to buy some items at the dollar store. He never returned home. After four or five hours, his father reported him missing. His body was later found about 9 a.m. with gunshot wounds.

The CCSO and the Texas Rangers have continued investigating the case.

Wednesday, the sheriff's office announced that Maximino Garcia was arrested at the Mexico-U.S. border in McAllen. He was served with a murder arrest warrant and detained in Hidalgo County Jail.

His brother Emmanuel Garcia was also arrested on an unrelated charge and detained in the Hidalgo County Jail.

"Further investigation provided Investigators and Rangers information in which to present information to Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, Judge Phillip Grimes to request two additional murder warrants. One for Emmanuel Garcia and one for another brother Jose Garcia for their participation in the reported incident," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Those warrants were issued and on March 11, Hidalgo County Jail was notified on the warrant for Emmanuel Garcia. That same day, Jose Garcia was arrested at his residence in Cherokee County.

As of Wednesday, all three brothers remain in the custody of the sheriff's office and the case remains under investigation.

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
