Nacogdoches PD: Man arrested after police find multiple controlled substances

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A man is in jail after Nacogdoches police found multiple controlled substances during a traffic stop on Friday.

According to police, on Friday around 10:54 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on the 7500 block of NW Stallings Drive because the passengers were not wearing their seat belts. The odor of marijuana was observed emitting from the vehicle, according to Nacogdoches PD.

Upon searching the vehicle, police found marijuana, multiple THC waxes, THC liquids, THC edibles, codeine, and cocaine.

Richard Motl, 40, was charged with two second-degree felonies for possession of controlled substances, a Class B misdemeanor for possession of marijuana and a state felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.  

Motl is currently in the Nacogdoches County Jail under a  $31,500 bond.
