BURKEVILLE, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Jasper Police Department arrested a 21-year-old Burkeville woman on a felony child endangerment charge on March 12 after her 2-month-old baby tested positive for methamphetamine.
Kaitlyn Dickens Sandoval was arrested and charged with felony child endangerment. She was released from the Jasper County Jail after she posted a bail amount of $5,000.
According to an arrest report East Texas News obtained Monday, a Child Protective Services investigator spoke to an investigator with the Jasper Police Department on March 9 in regard to a 2-month-old baby who tested positive for meth. When the baby was born on Jan. 4, a drug test was conducted on the child. The baby tested positive for amphetamines and methamphetamine, the report stated.
The CPS investigator told the Jasper PD officer that Sandoval tested positive for amphetamines and methamphetamine on Jan. 2 and again on Jan. 3, the report stated. In addition, the child's father allegedly tested positive for meth and admitted to using the illegal narcotic.
