POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office have arrested a Magnolia woman accused of chasing a man's vehicle in her vehicle and striking it with her son in the car with her.
Amy Marie Howell, 41, is charged with resisting arrest, endangering a child and aggravated assault.
According to a press release from the sheriff's office, dispatched received a call of an assault in progress in the Oak Terrace Subdivision, behind the Dollar General off of FM 3126.
According to the release, a man was able to get into his vehicle in an attempt to get away from Howell. Witnesses reported Howell got in her vehicle and chased him, striking his vehicle several times.
A deputy was able to find Howell as she was leaving the Dollar General parking lot, but she refused to follow his commands at a traffic stop and he had to force her from the vehicle.
Deputies discovered Howell had her 12-month-old son in the back seat and released him to the care of his father and grandmother.
