LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - ACM award winning Restless Heart will be bringing their musical talents to the 8th annual Pineywoods Cattle Barons Gala this October.
The band will be taking the stage at the Moore Farm for Hope Under the Stars. It is the third time the farm has hosted the event. The group will be singing from a selection of songs that includes six consecutive #1 hits from four albums that have been gold certified. Lufkin musician Joe Cuellar will be opening for the group. The event will end with the fan favorite, midnight dance party.
"It is such a great place to have the event," Event chair Traci McClesky said. "You really just feel like you are at home when you are out there."
The event will also be changing up a few things. Gone are the pig races and in will be horse races and some larger than life games. The food for the event will also have a local feel. Tome' Catering will be taking care of food.
"That was a huge deal to me," McClesky said. "Brittney Vinson is one of my friends and I love what foods she does. I wanted to bring it local. We have great chefs here in town and I wanted to get it involved and not source it out. To me it is very important to stay local and shop local."
Tickets for the event are expected to go on sale in August. All of the money from the event will go to the American Cancer Society.
