LUFKIN, TX (Press Release)- Roadrunner Complex on Angelina College campus will ring with the sounds of bats banging balls as both the AC softball and baseball teams host home doubleheaders on Saturday.
The No. 21 Lady Roadrunners, winners of four straight conference games, host Tyler College's Lady Apaches in a twin bill scheduled to start at 1 p.m. AC's ladies swept Navarro College Wednesday in Corsicana, winning 6-0 and 20-8 behind homers from Taylor Davis and KK Parker. The Lady 'Runners have climbed back into the thick of the conference standings with those four consecutive wins after dropping their first four league games. They'll face a Lady Apache team sporting a 9-1 record in Region XIV play.
Game time for the opener is 1 p.m.
Across the walk, the Roadrunners will resume their three-game series with a doubleheader against Northeast Texas Community College. AC dropped a 10-5 decision Thursday in Mount Pleasant but has won three of its last four games. The last time the 'Runners were at home, they were celebrating Nathan Miranda's walkoff homer against Bossier Parish College. AC went on to complete the three-game sweep that same weekend.
Saturday's first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Both the Lady Roadrunners and Roadrunners will also host home games on Monday, with the Lady 'Runners taking on Trinity Valley College in a game postponed earlier this season. That doubleheader will start at 1 p.m.
