Lufkin pitcher Kolton Eberlan made it official in ink Monday morning, that he will be playing baseball at LeTourneau University.
The two-time letterwinner is being recruited as a right handed pitcher, but he's versatile and also plays outfield for the Pack. Eberlan stands out on the mound for a pitching style that's more focused on movement than speed with his sidearm and submarine throw.
As a second-team all-district selection last year, the senior is not only eager to extend his baseball career, but also wants to gain more knowledge through academics along the way.
“They're really good in academics and so I think that will be one of the more important things about going to school there,” said Eberland. “I've always wanted to play college baseball so it feels good. I think it will be pretty tough at first, but I think I’m ready to do it. It feels good to still feel like an athlete, and still go to school and be able to do what you love.”
With a focus on academics, Eberlan said he wants to major in accounting.
