TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Investigators with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers are investigating an incident at the TCSO farm in which five goats were killed and all the dogs were released from the kennels on the property.

The incident occurred late Thursday night or early Friday night. Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace said the TCSO farm is located on Jim Butler Road, and it is a few blocks from the county jail.

Wallace said they have crops at the location for inmates to farm, along with livestock animals. They also keep dog kennels at the TCSO.

Overnight, someone trespassed on the sheriff’s office farm, undid the locks to the kennels, and let all of the dogs out and killed five goats, Wallace said.

Wallace said the Texas Rangers were brought in to help with the investigation for added manpower.

Anyone with any information on who was involved in the incident is urged to call the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office at (936) 642-1424 or Crime Stoppers at (936) 642-2334.
