NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Good food and music are the key ingredients for Farm Fest, an event at the Appleby Community Farm in Nacogdoches County.
Farm Fest is a pairing of homegrown vegetables and homegrown music.
ETX Music has gathered up some of the most talented musicians from the Pineywoods.
A lineup of Americana, folk, and rockin' country will provide good, wholesome entertainment.
This event is at a farm where organic vegetables are grown in fertile soil.
Bands will set up not too far from the gardens, giving guests an opportunity see and learn how real food is grown.
"I think it opens their mind to the concept," said Bryan Pruett, the owner of the Appleby Community Farm. "I give them a lettuce leaf off that lettuce and wow, this is as fresh as you can get. And fresh is best."
"We just decided together to have a local community festival focusing on local musicians and pulling some from other areas and just having an awesome day of music and some good food," said Nathan Hunnicutt, the founder of ETX Music.
Farm Fest starts up tomorrow at noon and continues thru 11:30 that night.
The Appleby Community Farm is on U.S. Highway 59 North.
