Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after a traffic stop resulted in drug findings.
According to the Angelina Sheriff's Office, on Friday at 10:30 p.m., Deputy Kendall Stewart initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of FM 1194 and Hwy 94 for obscured license plate.
The driver was identified as John Richard Burch Jr., 33 years old of Lufkin. Police determined that Burch had an outstanding warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia out of the Angelina County Sheriff's Office.
The warrant was confirmed and he was placed under arrest, according to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office.
During an inventory of the vehicle, a quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine were located.
Burch was also charged with Possession of Marijuana, a Class "B" misdemeanor, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, a 3rd-degree felony. Burch was also charged with assorted traffic offenses.
