After being surrendered by her owner, the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter is hoping to soon send one of their dogs home to a new family.

Knox, 2, made her way to the shelter just about a month ago. She is a Rottweiler and Labrador mix.

"She is extremely ball-driven, very playful, and super-sweet. She would be good with any type of family," said Katy Broadus with the shelter.

"Knox loves to do tricks for treats. She will definitely beg for one if you're not going to give her one. She's very smart and listens really well. Very well trained," Broadus said.

Part of her personality, she is on guard and alert for those around her.

"She tends to have a protective type of personality because of the Rottweiler in her breed. She was very protective when she came in, but the Lab in her is very playful," Broadus said.

Knox loves both the indoors and being a lap dog, and the outside, where she can run around.

"Outdoors would be perfect for her for several hours a day, so she can get that exercise. She is a type of breed that would require that exercise daily," Broadus said.

Knox is spayed and up to date on her vaccines, and she only needs a rabies shot.

Fees are waived so to adopt Knox. Contact the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter for more details.
