First-ever indoor trampoline park in Deep East Texas set to open Saturday

HUDSON, TX (KTRE) - The first-ever indoor trampoline park in Deep East Texas is ready to open its doors.

The staff at Hi-Jinx in Hudson had their ribbon cutting on Friday morning and will officially open to the public on Saturday.

"We are anxious and ready to get this place open," said owner Mike Shumway. "There are a lot of events happening this weekend down here, so we are really hoping we get a big crowd."

Th park has been in the works for over a year, and the building on State Highway 94 in Hudson has been given the all clear to open.

"We can work for any age group," Shumway said. "If they can walk, we can find a place for them to jump. Even if they are in a walker. We can have a fun time."

The park is designed into four main areas.

"We have the foam pits," Shumway said. "We got the battle beam where people can get up there and knock each other off. We have several trampolines that go into the foam pit. We have basketball. One is fixed and the other is on hydraulics, so we can raise and lower it to any level. We have two dodgeball courts here. Dodgeball is always the big seller. More kids will be in there than any place at all, so we put two in. We have a big open area that is just open jump. You can go crazy. Do your back flips. Do your front flips."

The venue can also host private parties after normal business hours and lock-ins. Special jump times have been set up for special needs children as well as children under 6.
