LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Children in Lufkin took a break from their classroom studies to enjoy a visit from a very "hoppy" guest on Wednesday.

The Easter Bunny made special appearances at the Dunbar, Herty, and Trout elementary campuses to spend time with kids and to hand out chocolate.

Russell Stover sent a local Brookshire Brothers chain far more chocolate bunnies than was needed.

Instead of throwing them away, Brookshire Brothers decided to hand out the chocolates to more than 1,000 children.
