The Alto and Garrison baseball teams are in for a big treat Thursday evening. They'll be playing on the on the same field as the pros they idol. These two teams are headed for their game at Minute Maid Park.
Home of the Houston Astros, it's going to be a much bigger stage than these boys are used to.
Alto and Garrison will be playing each other for a non-district game, but the competition will be just as heated once they get through those pregame jitters and awe of the stadium.
“It's a field some of these kids will never get to play on again. They'll never see a stadium like this. To be on that kind of turf with the way it's maintained, the environment it creates is something they may never experience again,” said Alto head coach Wes King. “It's something special for them and I just wanted to bring that to them.”
“Honestly, I couldn't believe it. I was telling everybody and my parents that we get to play there. They were all excited and wanted to come watch me. I told everybody. I was really happy,” said Alto baseball player Nolan Collins.
Alto and Garrison’s game at Minute Maid Park will start at 3:30 p.m.
