Two Nacogdoches residents killed in afternoon wreck



Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers investigated this afternoon a three vehicle major crash on SH 7 resulting in two fatalities.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 3:15 p.m., a 1999 GMC SUV was traveling east on SH 7, about one half mile east of Nacogdoches. The GMC crossed the center stripe of SH 7 and struck a westbound 2016 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer. After the collision with the Freightliner, the Chevrolet struck a westbound 2012 Mack truck tractor semi-trailer.

Seatbelts were not worn by the driver, Harolyn Fancher, 57, and passenger, Michael Fancher, 44, both of Nacogdoches. They were ejected from the GMC. Nacogdoches County Justice of the Peace David Perkins pronounced both Harolyn Fancher and Michael Fancher deceased at the scene. Two additional passengers in the GMC were not reportedly injured.

William Mask, 38, from Conroe, TX, was identified as the driver of the Freightliner. David Watson, 55, from Nacogdoches, TX, was identified as the driver of the Mack. Mask and Watson were not reportedly injured in the collision.

This crash remains under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
