NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches County grand jury indicted a Garrison man on a felony intoxicated manslaughter charge in connection to allegations that he was responsible for a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 59 that claimed the life of another man in November of 2016.

Bronson Devan Holmes, 42, was arrested on the second-degree felony intoxicated manslaughter charge on Nov. 11, 2016.

According to a previous East Texas News story, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were dispatched out to a two-vehicle wreck that occurred on Highway 59 just south of County Road 286.

The preliminary crash investigation showed that Holmes was driving a 2015 Dodge pickup north on Highway 59 when it crossed the center turn lane and struck a southbound 2007 Ford passenger car driven by Richard Roberts, 49, of Nacogdoches head on, the previous story stated.

Justice of the Peace David Perkins pronounced Roberts dead at the scene of the wreck.

After he refused medical treatment, Holmes was arrested and taken to the county jail.
