Nacogdoches County boys take 1st road win in Pineywoods Showdown history; Angelina girls win 2nd straight


For just the second time in KTRE Pineywoods Showdown history, the Nacogdoches County boys pulled off the win over their rivals across the river.

Nacogdoches County won an exciting 71-66 game over Angelina County.

The Angelina County girls won the opener of the night, 57-44. It's the second straight win for Angelina.

In the girls' game, Angelina led 7-6 after the first period, 24-15 at the half and 37-27 after the third quarter.

In the boys' game, Angelina led 24-15 after the first quarter but Nacogdoches roared off to a 38-32 lead at the half. Angelina took a 53-51 heading into an exciting fourth period.
