Nac Bike Rodeo on tap this weekend

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Giveaways, games and fun for the whole family is on tap for a Nac Bike Rodeo scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Friday, youngsters at Head Start in Nacogdoches got a sneak preview of what's to come. SFA environmental health students are helping out with the safety event. They have an important lesson to teach younger generations.

"Teach these kids how to ride bikes and how to be safe about it is pretty cool to get to do that, honestly," said Austin Smith, an SFA environmental health student.

"We're going to give away bikes, helmets, free prizes and stuff, but the most important thing we're going to learn how to properly ride the bicycle," Shabrantny Jolly, another student, said. "We're going to learn how to properly put the helmet on."

Nac Bike Rodeo is Saturday morning from 8 to 11.

All the fun will take place at the "Campus Recreation Parking Lot." This is a free event for children ages 4 to 10.

Bring your bike and helmet if you have one. Otherwise, there will be some available for use.
