NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

State Highway 21 west of Melrose is now open to all traffic again after crews worked to clean up two spilled truck loads.

The wreck happened after 1 p.m. Monday.

Texas Department of Transportation spokeswoman Rhonda Oaks confirmed that traffic is flowing again at about 5:30 p.m. Monday.

According to a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper on the scene, a truck driver hauling fertilizer was going eastbound and driving too fast, started to flip, and clipped an 18-wheeler carrying wood chips.

All of the fertilizer fell out of first truck as it flipped while some of the wood chips fell out of the other truck when its trailer was punctured.

The driver carrying the fertilizer was taken to a Nacogdoches hospital.
