A Houston County jury found a 28-year-old man guilty of first-degree felony aggravated robbery Wednesday in connection to a armed robbery that occurred at the Lovelady State Bank in December of 2015.
The sentencing phase in the case will start Thursday.
Alonso Donell Irving, of Houston, was one of four suspects in the robbery. Two Lovelady State bank employees were pistol-whipped during the robbery, according to a bank official.
The suspects robbed the bank on December, 17, 2015 before heading south on State Highway 19. A deputy with the Trinity County Sheriff's Office caught up to them and they bailed out of the car, holding handguns. The deputy fired his gun at them and one of the robbers collapsed and was arrested.
Court cases against the other three suspects are still pending.
