NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper arrested a 19-year-old Nacogdoches woman Wednesday evening after she allegedly tried to hide physical evidence by eating marijuana during a traffic stop on FM 2609.
Angelique Elizebeth Victor was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on a third-degree felony tampering with or fabricating physical evidence charge and a Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge. She has since posted an unspecified bail amount and has been released from the jail.
According to the arrest affidavit, the DPS trooper stopped Victor for going 65 mph in a 55-mph zone on FM 2609 Wednesday evening. When the trooper went to talk to Victor, he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from her vehicle, the affidavit stated.
He could also smell the same odor coming from Victor's mouth, the affidavit stated. When the DPS trooper had Victor open her mouth, he noticed a green, leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana, the affidavit stated.
"Victor was attempting to dispose of the evidence by swallowing it," the affidavit stated.
After Victor was arrested for tampering with physical evidence and taken to the jail, jail staff found a baggie of what appeared to be marijuana in her bra, the affidavit stated.
