Several East Texas counties have issued burn bans for their areas, Angelina County is still not one of them.
County Judge Joe Berry says conditions are just about right for a burn ban, but county leaders are trying to hold off until it rains. In the meantime, residents should stop burning trash to avoid grass fires. With the ground so dry for so long, a fire could lead to disaster.
Judge Berry said, "One good thing is, we don't have any strong winds to contend with and we're asking people to voluntarily curtail their outside burning activities just until we can get some rain."
