EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - A First Alert Weather Day remains in place for this upcoming Saturday as heavy rain and thunderstorms set their sights on East Texas.
With rain chances at 70% on Saturday and 60% on Sunday, you may want to have some alternate plans ready to go as it could be a disruption to your outdoor plans.
A slow moving cool front will combine with ample moisture to give us widespread rain and thunderstorms this weekend. The rain will start around or shortly after lunchtime on Saturday and may not completely clear the Piney Woods until sometime on Sunday afternoon.
Overall, we are looking at one-to-two inches of rain to take place with this weekend storm system, with some isolated areas possibly receiving even higher amounts.
The severe weather threat is rather low for us at this time, but we cannot rule out an isolated storm or two containing some strong winds or small hail.
