LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A man and woman were injured following a two-vehicle wreck on the Lufkin loop Friday afternoon.
Loop traffic was blocked for about an hour as crews worked to clean up the scene, which was in the area of Lufkin Avenue.
Lufkin police spokeswoman Jessica Pebsworth said a two-axle Freightliner rear-ended a Kia Soul and sent the Kia across the highway and into a retaining wall.
It took responders 25 minutes to get the man and woman out of the car.
A second, three-vehicle wreck later occurred in the backup of the traffic jam from the original cleanup.
