LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Downtown will soon have a new tenant and they will be serving up some good meals.
Lia's Kitchen will soon be opening in the Sjolander building in downtown Lufkin, across from the courthouse. It will be the first business venture for Tgong Martalia.
"I wanted to open one, and my friend showed me this place downtown," Martalia said. "I thought this was a good location because there is not much else around here for meals."
Martalia said the restaurant is going to be a mixture of American and Asian food.
"We are going to have a little bit of American food, hamburgers and sandwiches, and we're going to have some Chinese food and Japanese food also," Martalia said.
Martalia hopes to have the place opened by June 3.
